Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko, administrator Samantha Power and heads of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and a delegation of the US Embassy led by Ambassador Bridget Brink visited one of the capital’s critical infrastructure facilities to inspect equipment damaged or destroyed as a result of Russian missile strikes. as well as works carried out at this time to restore the facility and prepare the city for the coming winter.

The mayor recalled that a year ago, with the support of the US Government, the capital had relocated heating networks in areas damaged by rocket attacks.

11 km of pipelines were completely replaced with modern pre-insulated European-style pipes with a damage alarm system.

KP “Kyivteploenergo” handed over 137 generators, which made it possible to equip 25% of the city’s boiler houses with alternative power sources and to continue heating houses, hospitals and important social facilities. The generators were also handed over to emergency recovery crews for repair work,” said Vitaliy Klitschko.

This is what the equipment looks like after the Russian shelling.
The mayor supplemented this list of assistance with 4 modern excavators for Kyivteploenergo. They immediately began to work on the restoration of thermal energy infrastructure facilities.

Samantha Power and Brigitte Brink assess the level of destruction caused by the aggression of the Russian Federation.
