Norway and Great Britain will allocate 5 million euros for the development of the Chernobyl zone

Norway and the United Kingdom announced aid to the Chernobyl zone in the amount of more than 5 million euros.
“Ukraine thanks the representatives of each country that is a contributor to the International Fund for the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, and separately Norway and Great Britain for supporting the development of the Exclusion Zone and effective support of our state in the fight against the aggressor state,” said the first deputy minister of environment and natural resources protection Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi at the meeting of the Assembly of Depositors of the International Cooperation Account for Chernobyl.

As Krasnolutskyi said, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in order to speed up the signing of the Framework Agreement between Ukraine and the EBRD to finance measures to restore safe conditions in the Chernobyl exclusion zone and radioactive waste management facilities in Ukraine, as well as to support the long-term safe operation of such facilities .

Earlier it was reported that the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft law on the development of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
