The French company will help build power grids in the Zaporizhzhia region

In the Zaporizhzhia region, a project to build modern power grids will be launched in accordance with a memorandum of cooperation with the French company EDF International Networks.

“The economic reconstruction of the country places high demands on future networks as well. They must be stable, flexible, efficient and reliable, integrated in accordance with the needs of the development of new economic and generation facilities, in particular RES, and fully satisfy the demand for electricity distribution. Cooperation with our French partners will help to implement the relevant tasks and bring the standards of distribution services closer to the best indicators of international practices,” said Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Yaroslav Demchenkov.

After the successful implementation of the pilot project in the Zaporizhzhia region, it is planned to implement the corresponding experience of cooperation for the restoration of distribution networks in other regions of Ukraine.

Demchenkov emphasized that it is important to ensure the physical development of networks, optimize operational costs, while increasing the efficiency of networks and minimizing electricity losses.

According to Demchenkov, investments in the development of distribution systems will also contribute to attracting funds for related services, for example, the development of energy storage systems, balancing, microgrids and electric mobility.

We will remind you that in June 2023, during the working visit of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko to Paris, the Ministry of Energy and the leading company in the world electricity distribution market, EDF International Networks, signed a memorandum of cooperation.
